This intro to tarot will help you recognize different types of tarot decks, understand the basic structure of the deck, and gain confidence interpreting cards with daily card pulls. If you have a deck of cards, bring them. We will have some time to practice together.
Tarot: The Hero’s journey/ The Fool’s Journey

Course description:
This class focuses on the Major Arcana of the Tarot. In observing the Fool’s Journey through the Tarot and connecting that to the classic Hero’s or Heroine’s Journey, we will see patterns of storytelling inherent in the cards. This will help build a deeper insight for readings as we recognize these archetypes as parts of our lives. If you have a deck of cards, bring them. We will have some time to practice together.

Journaling with Tarot

Course description
We will discuss journaling your Tarot readings to keep a record and become more aware of emerging patterns. Participants will create a simple saddle stitch journal to track their daily readings.
Exploring Tarot Readings

Course description
We will learn about several popular Tarot layouts for readings as well as making your own reading layouts with intention. If you have a deck of cards, bring them. We will have some time to practice together.

Course description:
DIY oracle deck: Students explore options and experiment with materials for creating an oracle deck. Heavy paper and a selection of drawing/ painting tools will be available. Please feel free to bring your favorite art materials.

Katie Claiborne is an artist and Visual Art educator. She has studied Tarot since 2005 and is the author of the Southern Oracle Tarot blog. She is currently designing a deck called Queen Born Tarot.
